Zippers Linked to Y2K Conspiracy
If you ever looked at some of your zippers, they say YKK, which is eerily similar to Y2K. But what do zippers have to do with the Y2K conspiracies? Well, fabric manufacturers are increasingly being replaced by computers. You can get an automated sewing machine to do the work of numerous human workers. It also removes that "human" error factor.
The clothing manufacturing industry created this hysteria about Y2K to drum up fear of computers and revert back to a human work force. They saw this as an opportunity to get people away from relying on computers for everything.
